International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated around the world on 8 March. Each year SI South Perth supports UN Women Australia as they host a series of fundraising events around the country to celebrate achievements and discuss actions needed to continue accelerating gender equality.
Globally, UN Women will mark IWD with the theme Generation Equality in 2020. Generation Equality is a call to action to join forces across generations, to create a new vision where every girl and woman everywhere has equal opportunities to lead, to learn, to earn a decent living and to live lives free from violence and discrimination.
SI South Perth members and female students from local schools will be attending the UN Women IWD breakfast in Perth on Wednesday 4 March 2020 from 7.00 am to 9.00 am at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
