School Packs Project

Throughout the month of September we are aiming to fill 500 bags with school stationery for children escaping domestic violence in local refuges. These are some of our most disadvantaged children and we believe they deserve to have the basic stationery needed to learn at school.

Items needed include: packs of highlighters, writing pens, twist crayons, coloured pencils, coloured markers, writing pencils, pencil cases, glue sticks, erasers, sharpeners.  The items must be NEW and can be any brand.

Donation boxes are located in community libraries throughout Perth and Mandurah for the month of September.

Here are some ways you can help:

  • Like our Project Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/schoolpacksproject/
  • Add some stationery items to your shopping trolley to donate
  • Collect stationery amongst your friends, sports teams, group or workplace
  • Make a cash donation for the purchase of stationery
  • Become a business sponsor for the bulk purchase of stationery.

A fundraising performance of this iconic Australian play.

Last Cab to Darwin is a 2003 Australian drama/comedy stage play written by Reg Cribb and based upon the true story of taxi driver Max Bell who was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer in the early 1990s. Taking advantage of the controversial Northern Territory’s Voluntary euthanasia law Rex decides to end his own life with dignity. His request under the law is in bitter dispute but Rex sells up everything he owned, says goodbye to his neighbor and good friend Polly, and drives the great distance from Broken Hill, New South Wales to Darwin, Northern Territory where taking his own life would be legal. The 2003 production was presented both at the Sydney Opera House and the Octagon Theatre in Perth.

Here’s your chance to see a local performance at the Old Mill Theatre under the direction of Trevor Dhu. Our fundraising performance includes sherry/port before the show and a sumptuous afternoon tea afterwards.
