16 Days of Activism

Beginning on 25 November and ending on 10 December is the United Nations 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. It is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world.

This international campaign originated from the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute coordinated by the Centre for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991.  For several years now Soroptimist clubs have used the Walk the Talk campaign to advocate for an END to violence against women.

SI South Perth members will participate in the 30th Annual Silent Domestic Violence Memorial March on Friday 27 November from Supreme Court Gardens (cnr Barrack St and Riverside Drive).
